Day of life 33: Fancy adidas legs

Salutations loyal followers,

Today the occupational therapist, Miss Lisa came by to see me and was horrified by my puffy feet.  I have been diligently doing my exercises and massage, but it doesn't seem to have helped the lymphedema in my feet.  My puffy feet are a symptom of Turner's Syndrome, and is usually caused from delayed development of the lymph system.  My feet have gotten pretty bad, they are starting to get so swollen, they're hard, and my legs are sensitive to the touch.

Miss Lisa decided to put kinesiotape on my legs in an attempt to draw the swelling out of the feet and into one of the lymph drainage points, my hips.  Because my hips are so sensitive, she only wanted to put the tape from my knees to the feet at first.  She used pink and blue tapes, which are supposed to help with hot and cold.  It took her almost an hour to carefully put the stretchy tape on, but when she did I looked pretty bad ass.  I mean, I wouldn't have wanted to mess with me.

Seriously this looks pretty bad ass right?
The final product- I look ready for an Athleta catalog.
We will leave the tape on all weekend, and see if it works.  I can bathe in it and do my exercises, but my nurses and Mom have to keep an eye on me to see if I go through any physiological changes.  There's a chance that mobilizing all of this fluid will overwhelm my system.

Speaking of overwhelming my system... This morning Mom noticed that I was wide awake for a long time, and mentioned that maybe I could go in a swing or seat to get out of the bassinet for awhile.  Nurse Lindsey went to find a swing.  When she put me in it, I didn't know what to do!  I was so confused!  I closed my eyes when I was laying flat and opened them when I was upright. It was overwhelming!  The swing also played music and vibrated but Mom and Lindsey said I wasn't ready for a full on rave.  I didn't really like the swing business because it was too fast, and because Mom and Dad wouldn't stop laughing at my confusion.  Parents are evil.
What the hell is this torture device?
